The account posted hundreds of replies to different accounts with this text: "Hello team, I need to talk to you, can you DM me please?💫"
When I searched for the text in double quotes, I found that an account called GeorgeDegeneth had posted at least a hundred replies with the same text. It has about 100,000 followers, and it currently posts the same type of tweets about cryptocurrencies as darkicon_.
From 2013 until 2015 GeorgeDegeneth was posting tweets like this: "makeup is annoying and so are bras, hair brushes, and clothes just being a girl is annoying im 2 lazy 4 this" (https://x.com/search?q=from%3AGeorgeDegeneth+until%3A2015-1-1&f=live). That identical tweet was also posted by accounts with names like ProblemsBITCH, Therelatable, and BestAdorableMsg. But the account remained inactive from 2015 until 2023 when it started posting tweets using the same formula as darkicon_. From 2010 until 2012 the account seemed like the account of some black lady or a bot that portrayed a black lady.
Hello Kellogg’s, I’m an influencer and for 500 usd per tweet I’ll post reviews of your cereal products. My account name is dark_icon and I usually post stuff not related to anything but dark web stuff, associated crypto scams and anything dark web related. So, how about it eh?
Hello Holiday Inn Express. Hi, I’m dark_icon and I’m a dark icon with over a million followers. How would you like to pay me to tweet reviews of your hotel rooms? I can only get paid via #ETH or #BTC, but first, make sure it’s washed through Monero a few times before you send it to me. I can’t be identified because dark icons are secretive and need to stay that way.
Hello, Motel 6. Hi, I’m dark_icon and I want to tweet reviews of your room with the skinny towels, low water pressure showers and views of all the drug dealing neighborhoods you have your brand located in. Will you make sure you leave the 20 watt light bulb on for me?

Interestingly, that @GeorgeDegeneth account is listed as a "winner" of one of @DarkIcon_'s giveaways. I wonder if the contest is rigged?
